City of CHandler | Police and Fire

Location: Chandler Arizona

Completion: 05/06

Size: 31,228 sf

The West Chandler Police Station and Fire Station No. 9 facilities incorporate 4" x 8" x 16" integral colored masonry throughout the structures for aesthetics, structure, envelope, and durability. Sage green and a custom brown colored cmu were used due to the building's park setting and adjacency to a residential neighborhood. The buildings were broken into smaller massing incorporating color and coursing variations. An offset banding was used to create shadow patterning on the building. Vertical masonry "fin" columns were used to support the pedestrian-scaled canopy at the entrance to unify the various components and create shade for the west exposure.
