Goodyear Police operations facility

Location: Goodyear Arizona

Completion: 10/16

Size: 21,000 sf

The proposed project is the construction of a 20,910sf new Police Operations facility for the Goodyear Police Department. The building will be located within the City of Goodyear Municipal Complex at 14455 W. Van Buren Street, southwest of the recently completed 911 building. This will be a twenty four hour seven day a week facility and will house Records, Patrol Operations, K-9 and Traffic units, Detention (adult and juvenile), TOW interface, Evidence Deposit/Processing, Locker Rooms, a gym and a community room for public use. The secure lot will be expanded to accommodate approximately 67 Patrol/POV’s and a K-9 training yard to the south of the new building. On the public side parking will be added to the existing lot and a ceremonial lawn will act as a buffer between the parking and the new structure. There will be a public art piece associated with this project. A new entry off 143rd Ave will be added and 145th will be extended south to the new drive for access to the secured lot. A new generator, transformer and SES will be installed. IT will be connected to the 911 facility through existing conduit runs. A new hydrant will be installed plus fire/domestic water lines and sewer will be extended to the building. A balanced site is anticipated for earthwork. The architecture of the building will complement the existing campus. Similar building heights, material palettes (founders block and EIFS color) and fixtures will be used to create a seamless transition between the current and proposed building.
